Perry Ellis has NOT set any visits yet

Just talked to the mother of Perry Ellis about the reports of Perry taking 5 official visits this year to Kentucky, Kansas, Kansas ST, Duke, and Memphis. According to her, that story is premature as Perry hasn't set any visits at all, and does not know at this time which schools he will be visiting. It just seems like someone just assumed that is who would be getting the visits because those are the schools recruiting him the hardest as of this moment.

But no visits are scheduled at this time, as soon as we hear something here we will let the rest of you know.

It appears that our favorite recent big man Demarcus Cousins is going to be doing an autograph session on August 3rd from 6:00-7:30 at Fan Outfitters. Tickets are only 20 bucks for an autograph, and a chance to meet Big Cuz.

So head on over to fanoutfitters.com and purchase your ticket and show Big Cuz that Big Blue Nation supports him.

Former CAT Desmond Allison murdered

Former Kentucky Wildcat Desmond Allison was shot and killed outside an apartment complex in Columbus Ohio today. Desmond was an outstanding athlete excelling in both basketball and football in high school in Florida. He signed with Kentucky out of high school to play basketball in 1998-99 season. He played two years, but had to transfer due to some violations of team rules.

After transferring from Kentucky, Desmond resurfaced at South Dakota playing football, and trying to turn his life around. Sad to see this happen to someone who was generally a good person, and trying to make a change for the better. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends Desmond left behind.

Another small Perry Ellis update

Perry Ellis was supposed to play in Chicago last, but due to a power outage caused by weather, that didn't happen. Perry will be in action today at the Summer Jam in Milwaukee at 4:30pm.

Some other info I got is that Kansas hasn't missed a game yet and Kentucky has been to 8 out of 11 games so far with Cal being at 6 and Orlando being at 8. So both schools are showing some major interest in Perry, and Kansas will be hard to beat for him. Kansas won't lose out due to lack of recruiting effort, i think (just my opinion only) Cal will have to work some magic to get him out of Kansas.

Perry Ellis: Small Update

Just exchanged a quick Email with Perry Ellis' mother about recruiting, this is what she had to say.

"John Calipari came to 6 out of 8 games, that was impressive." "Coach K came to the first 2 games."

When I asked if Perry had a leader at this point she said "Perry has no leader, and all 7 schools are working really hard right now."

It seems that this recruitment will be a close one till the end, and I don't think anyone will know where Perry will end up until he announces his decision. It's been no secret how I feel about Perry's game and his ability to be an IMPACT player in college, and judging by the amount of attention he is getting this summer, I'm not alone. Whichever school Perry decides to attend, they will be getting one of the best players in next years class.
